I realized I didn't have much for 4th decor...how did that happen? It's one of the cutest and funnest holidays to decorate for! Trying to be a thrifty girl, I found a couple crafts on some more cute crafty blogs and decided that they were cheap and easy...just how I like em! haha
First: Got an 11x14 picture frame on 50% off at Micheals, and used the 25% off any frame purchase = really cheap! yay! Painted the glass to resemble the flag, stapled cute ribbon to it and hung on my door! Wa-lah!(I stuck a little velcro to the back and to my door so it wouldn't hit it everytime we opened or closed it).
And this one was almost FREE! It's a set of 3 fireworks. I saw this video on the Good Things Utah Website and loved it too. So my SIL Julie got her father in law to cut us the wood we would need (he just had some laying around) which is 4x4 posts cut down to 8, 10, and 12". Then we got some cute scrap paper. We decided to try some spray adhesive for this project because I have been having bad luck with Modge Podge. I don't love it and it doesn't love me. It always bubbles! So, I am now a lover of spray adhesive, which we just sprayed onto the wood and placed the paper on. Then, embellish with a star and a little ric-rac and stick some curled wire into the top and wrap all of em up with some festiveness and done!
A few preschool things to get done and I just found another darling idea I might try to do this week...:)
